Delighted, the moon revels in the dark night
Through the thick blackness, he saunters
Conversing with stars
They twinkle with delight at his antics
He caresses a river softly as it rushes under his touch
Then stoops to kiss an icy mountain peak
The snow caps may sparkle at his sweet embrace
But they do not melt
For those glaciers know that while my muse appears bright and gracious
His core is dark and cold

Love can be dark, it can be moon light or it can be sunshine. When love is love it matters not. Who wouldn’t be touched by the moon!

I completely agree, Otto! The forms of love are as varied as the individuals that experience them; each is beautiful in its own right.

You love a person for who they are, not what they are. And that my dear, is true love 🙂

So very true! There is nothing so beautiful and rewarding as loving someone for who they are 🙂 Thank you for your insight!

I love how you turn the moon into a character. It is a living being, reacting with its surroundings. There is some lovely imagery in this piece, and I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you so much! I love to bring the natural world to life. It deepens the connection to our surroundings I feel. I think humans have always loved to see the “spirit” within nature. Hence why so much mythology is based on nature.

You’re welcome. I agree that humans love to see the spirit within nature. I think we are always gripped with the amazing beauty and strengths of it. I was watching Walking the Himalayas on tv last night (a guy called Levison Woods who walks the entire length of it) and he passes many tribes and towns where people are highly spiritual – with their own beliefs and ways to connect with the universe. It was very interesting. I look forward to reading more of your stories 🙂
